Story

Hi, Its Nikki here Becky's Sister. I have signed up to complete the London Marathon 2019, this means on the 28th of April I will be running 26.2 miles, crazy I know but I am so determined to cross the finishing line. The reason I have decided to take on this challenge is because in 2009 Becky very sadly passed away aged 25 due to Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). In June 2019 it will be 10 years we have been without her by our sides, 10 years of not seeing her or hearing her voice. No single day has passed or ever will when I do not think about Becky, I miss her beyond words. Any kind word you can say about someone you could have said about Becky, she was such a kind and caring person she was always there for me and then all of a sudden she was gone. Becky sadly didn’t get to live the life she deserved and worked so hard to achieve so I want to do something special in her memory. Something that requires hard work and dedication to achieve and would push me to my limits both physically and mentally so that’s why I chose the London Marathon. I will be completing the London Marathon to raise money in Becky’s memory for Epilepsy Action. Epilepsy Action exist to improve the lives of everyone affected by epilepsy. They provide support and expert advice, raise awareness and fight for a better deal for people with epilepsy. They provide support groups, advice to professionals and fund vital research and much more. Epilepsy Action is a charity my family and I regularly support. It was the charity who Becky turned to for help and support when she was diagnosed with Epilepsy. The diagnosis of Epilepsy is life changing and extremely scary as it is so unpredictable. I will never be able to thank Epilepsy Action enough for being there for Becky but if by raising money in Becky’s memory I can help them support others who are in a similar situation every step of training and the 26.2 miles on the day will be worth it. I could say so much more about Becky and Epilepsy Action but I think I’m best to get my running shoes on. I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to visit Becky's Tribute Fund and I promise you I will cross the finish line. If you would like to sponsor me I would be extremely grateful, you would be supporting a fabulous charity who do so much good work and you will also be helping me keep Becky’s memory alive.
